Gurney’s Inn Wedding, Montauk, NY

All hail Gurney’s Inn in Montauk, NY for throwing an amazing wedding for Meredith and Rick. Ocean, faded grey cedar buildings, yellow and white and black and white umbrellas in abundance, delicious food, and a big beautiful tent were the perfect setting for glamorous  Merrie and Rick.

I think the interior of the tent was the coolest I’ve ever seen thanks to Merrie and her Mom, both interior designers,  and Anastasia at Sag Harbor Florist. Instant transport to Palm Springs with those big beautiful tropical palm leaves and take a look at the palm leaf placemats.

Full disclosure: My high school reunion was held here pre-reno.

Full disclosure: According to my phone pedometer thingy I climbed about 40 flights of stairs going up and down to the beach. But this isn’t about me, is it?

Merrie and Rick had one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever seen in a little nook between buildings.  Sometimes it’s hard not to cry.  And we need to discuss those Manolo’s.

In their words: It all began with a knock at the door. Not a literal knock on an actual door, but a text message Merrie sent to Rick one cold February night in 2014 that simply said “knock knock.” Fortunately, Rick decided to answer the knock and convince Merrie to meet him for dinner somewhere in the mean streets of Brooklyn.

While we’ve known each other casually through mutual friends since we were 16 years old, we weren’t brought together until after some prodding from our respective friends. Two weeks after that first date Rick invited Merrie down to Jupiter, FL to meet his parents and the stage was set. Never apart or out of touch for more than a few hours, we’ve found our other halves and are looking forward to a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love.
